What this release adds

Approvals let you add a required sign-off to any step in a run. Turn a step into an approval, point it at the earlier work it should review, and the steps behind it stay locked until an owner approves or rejects — with every decision recorded automatically.

An accountable owner

The approver is assigned by name, email, or role. The person who did the reviewed work can't be the one to sign off on it.

Nothing moves early

The steps behind an approval stay locked until it's resolved, so nothing advances without the sign-off.

A permanent record

Every approval and rejection lands in the run's audit trail with the owner, the timestamp, and a required comment.

Turning it on takes three steps

1
Require a sign-off

Turn any step into an approval and choose which earlier steps it reviews.

2
Assign the approver

Assign the person or role who owns the decision — the same way as any other step.

3
Approve or reject

Approving unlocks the run; rejecting sends the work back to fix and resubmit, with a comment attached.
