Ad Hoc Steps on Active Runs
- Add one-off steps to any active run.
- Workflow edits don't touch them.
Sometimes a run needs an extra one-off task that isn't worth editing the workflow for. This new workflow setting lets you add ad hoc steps directly to an active run while keeping the workflow itself as your source of truth. Enable it in your workflow settings to start allowing ad hoc steps — great for exceptions, one-off requests, and work that only shows up mid-process.
Global Variables for Workflows
- Reference one value across any workflow with
{{variable_name}}. - Update it once — every workflow that uses it picks up the change.
Define a value once and reference it anywhere. Global variables let you create name/value pairs that can be used in any workflow — no more hardcoding phone numbers, addresses, or policy links into individual steps. Find the new Global Variables option in the Other menu on the Workflows list page; they appear alongside step data variables in the variable picker when editing workflows.
Workflow Reporting Updates
- Spot steps that consistently finish past their due date.
- Catch overly long titles and broken variables before they go live.
Workflow reports got a significant upgrade this quarter, giving you a clearer picture of how your workflows are performing and where bottlenecks are. Together these reports help you spot recurring problems, tighten up confusing steps, and catch broken variables before they reach your team.
Built-in Workflow Feedback on Runs
- One-click feedback link on every run.
- Submissions save as comments on the workflow.
Workflows get better when the people actually running them can share what's working and what isn't. Turn it on in Workflow Settings under Display Give Feedback on runs — a low-friction way to keep improving your SOPs with input from the people closest to the work.
SMS Notifications (Enterprise)
- Opt in to SMS for mentions, reminders, assignments, and run status alerts.
- Each user verifies their own number and picks what to receive.
Get real-time Manifestly alerts by text message — so the right people know what's happening the moment it happens, whether they're on the floor, in the field, or away from their desk. SMS notifications are available for Enterprise customers; head to your profile settings to enable them. Tip: keep SMS for alerts that truly require immediate attention, and leave the rest on email or chat.
